The Kansas City Art Institute offers fine art programs to foster creativity in youth ages 6 to 14 year-round.
During the fall and spring free Art Club workshops are offered in partnership with local schools to expose young artists to new mediums and processes they might not otherwise experience. To coordinate an Art Club workshop, please fill out this form.
ARTventure camps provide students ages 6 to 14 with the chance to spend time on campus and experience quality fine art instruction. Nearly every medium is offered during camp, and students learn new skills through discovery and imagination. Campers can navigate their own ARTventure by taking different courses each week, all summer long.
As the most popular visual art camp in the region, KCAI's ARTventure camps fill fast space is limited. Summer camp enrollment opens Feb. 1st.
A number of need-based summer camp scholarships are available every year for youth and high school students. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and space available. All scholarships recipients will receive an allergy-friendly, non-perishable lunch on the days that the scholarship has been awarded.
Applications open Feb. 1st and are to be postmarked by Wednesday, April 15, 2020. All applicants will be notified of their status by Friday, May 1, 2020.

The Artist in Training certificate is an opportunity for young aspiring artists to expand their skills with guided instruction. Continuing Education offers a free Artist in Training certificate from Kansas City Art Institute to recognize ambitious students who complete any two "FUNdamentals" or "Fundamentals" and three courses of their choice.
